With nearly 1,000 units marketed this year, VW Constellation 17.280 is the most registered truck in Argentina during 2018, a year that also crowns the two decades of the brand in the country. The business, which started in 1998 with the export of only 20 vehicles, now consolidates Argentina as one of Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus' three largest markets in the world and surpasses 36,000 units running on the streets and roads of the country.
"We believe in Argentina potential and we will continue investing. These 20 years in the country are a great pride for our history, always based on building a trusting relationship with the country's fleet owners. Throughout this period, the market has been consolidated as one of our main destinations for exports and the country has a fundamental role in our entire internationalization plan", says Roberto Cortes, president and CEO of Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus.
Development of vehicles according to local needs demonstrates the brand commitment level with the Argentinean transport industry and even the tailor made strategy, a success also for these customers. Now best-selling truck in the country, Constellation 17.280 had its tractor version specially created for the operation profile in Argentina.
Proof of this ongoing investment are the latest launchings this year. With the new Delivery generation, the brand differentiates itself in a competitive segment and the gradual introduction of more models continues such strategy. The Robust package, available for Constellation trucks, raises the customers options. Further expanding the portfolio, the arrival of a new Volkswagen tractor, the Constellation 25.360, will provide the productivity that road transport wants to achieve.
Since its first sale to the country in 1998, Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus has continuously and sustainably grown its participation in the Argentinean fleet. Alongside with differentiated service in the country's dealer network, launches like the above mentioned and others yet to come will help to leverage the brand's position in the market and foster new businesses.
"Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus is ready for the Argentinean economy recovery, offering the latest in transportation technology for emerging markets, as well as a robust dealer network. We are focused in these opportunities that will arise, always with our concept of 'less you do not want, and more you don’t need', added by our excellence in aftersales", states Roberto Cortes.
